Does anyone else ever become obsessed with one song?

I do this from time to time. I find a new song and listen the shit out of it. I'm doing it now with the below song. Heard it on Pandora yesterday and I've probably listened to it 30 times since then. Not sure what that says about my personality, but this happens alot. Anyone else have this problem?

Delete everything after the ampersand.

Oh, and my Pandora station played Broken Bells 'The Ghost Inside' a little while ago. Good stuff...

Ok, seriously WTF am I doing wrong on these fucking youtube links? I am pasting the url exactly as it is in my browser.
Do you see the ampersand in the link? Get rid of it and everything after it.

I'll let you fix it.

And related to the topic at hand, yes, that happens to me too. I'll find something that just "does it" for me and play the shit out it daily...hourly...for weeks on end.

*EDIT* I really gotta starting reading the whole thread before I post. What ^he said and what ^^he said before he said it.

Thanks guys. Not that it matters, but not sure why that ampersand messes up the embedded video when it displays in my browser.

Anyway, it's a catchy tune. This singer is also the lead singer from The Shins.

And the answer to the question posed by this thread is yes, definitely. I think the last song to really get me was 'Little Lion Man' by Mumford & Sons. I remember making a comment that I could listen to it 100 times in a row and not get sick of it - the local alternative station put that to the test and proved me wrong...

I'm that way with Mon Cheri by the Georgia Satellites.

Every time that comes up on shuffle in the car I keep replaying it for day's.

I could if I allowed myself to. If I hear a song and want to start the "obsessing", I purposely won't listen again so that I don't get burned out on it.

My obsession is more with albums than songs.....

Mine is with Albums also.......

Over and over and over until I now the lyrics, solo's, rhythms.......

Compulsive/Obsessive personality!!!! :scared-yipes:

No variety is the spice of life ive never been able to obsess over 1 song and very few movies. One of the reasons I tuned out OTA radio is there obsession with one song and driveing like a nail into your skull I listen to CDs MP3 or sports radio to eliminate that. When I think of Radio I always think of Bob Seeger "Against The Wind." :angry-banghead:

Very few movies I want to watch again after initial viewing.

Yes! And it is not just 'new' songs. I get in the mood for one of my classics and I will listen to it constantly.

Definitely with me! Here lately it's been "Driver's Seat" by Sniff'n The Tears. Freaking love that song as I haven't heard it since I was a kid, so it's "new" to me again.

On the flip side, have any of you had a song (that you may not have heard in a while) keep coming back in your head every few days? Here the past few months it's been Bowie's "China Girl". I've always liked the bass line in that song.

Yes, it's not limited to new songs to me either. Porno for Pyros - Pets is a song I can listen to over and over and over.

That's funny! I just picked up "Against The Wind" CD for a dollar. I listened to it once and I think I'm good for a long, long time! LOL

I use to obsess with albums, but I've ruined listening to some of my favorite albums from over play. So, I've learned to listen to it a few times then shelve it for a couple of months. It is always great to get back to it and much better than getting burned out on it and not be able to listen to it for a year or so.

I've gotten that way with a few albums over the years. A few that come to mind are Gin Blossoms: New Miserable Experience, Evanescence: Fallen, Allison Krauss: New Favorite, The Cult: Electric, Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon, Cowboy Junkies: The Trinity Session and Les Miserable: Original London Cast.

I also have a playlist of maybe a hundred songs that are my favorites and I never get tired of, but I haven't gotten a new song obsession in awhile.

Drove 15 miles out of the way when we were in Florida because I couldn't get a song I heard on a Kohl's commercial out of my head. They didn't have it, ended up just downloading the song to my phone through Amazon and all was good. By the time we left for home, I had everybody sick of the song. BTW, the song was Desperate Guys by the Faint.

Yes often, but not as often as i used to in my late teens and early twenties. Usually now I'll get hooked on a song and in turn, get hooked on an artist/group. Then as I figure out the artists best tracks, those tracks wind up on a playlist of some sort....often this playlist helps me to gets through work around the house, long drives, long work days, etc... The most recent example for me, is getting Bon Iver's two CDs, I can listen to both back to back on repeat for hours and hours.
