Does anyone still buy Pioneer or Sony receivers??

Yep, I've bought receiver Sony STR-DN1080 ( one of those over here: https://chooserator.com/best-av-receivers ), maybe 1 and half ago, and it works perfectly, even counting that it was not the best choice for that time, between all other models. Of course, there is an issue about the price, someone can say it's too much for the receiver, but who knows the price of quality - will take it.

When I bought my Sony A8G about a few months ago, for various reasons I also replaced the receiver. I replaced the receiver with a Sony. The Sony receiver was a STR-DN1080.

I will say that when I was shopping for receivers a month ago, the HT shop did have some Sony ES. They seemed competitive at their price points.
