I got a line on a pair of these with an Adcom preamp and 200 W amp. I think I can get a good deal on them and resell them.

I don't care about the preamp and amp, I will probably give them to a buddy of mine. I am mainly interested in the speakers.

Any ideas what they, speakers only, might be worth?

Those are very good (and loud) speakers. You may need to get creative with an EQ to get a good home audio sound with modern tastes. Also, I would very very careful to check all the drivers to ensure they are the original components (or direct replacements). It is very common for users to blow a tweeter or midrange then get pissed off at the OEM Part costs and replace them with whatever off the shelf drive happens to fit the mounting method. Also, the woofer surrounds might be dead.

I am excited to hear what you think of those things.

As I researched them I found they weigh 165 lbs ea. WOW. This in itself has dampened by enthusiasm as I am not really interested in them for myself. I just wondered if I could flip them.

If I still had my bar I would give them a serious consideration for sound in the bar, but alas I no longer a bar owner and plrobably never will be again.

I may try to go give them a listen anyway. I don't know if they have the EQ with them or not. I hope they do.

Yes that is heavy the S15-3A is 88 lbs for the bar and would work just as well.

If your in DC sometime visit and I will fire up the S15-3A in the yard.
There is an RTA of the TL15-1 sub and S15-3A on my outside system. 32 to 16k at 50 ft.
100 to 110 DB at 50 ft. This was for a Dubb Step Party.

Most of the old 15 inch like my S15-3A are cloth surround. They deteriorate slower than the Foam.

Dry rott mostly. Recone or replacement is possible because there are parts available. The tweeters St-350 have diaphrams from after market sources. The mids I could not find anything on the EV site about there makeup. S15-3A uses a VMR mid driver that is rubber surround. Not serviceable by most and parts not easy. I baby my S15-3A for what they are worth.
