extra surround speakers

So i have two pairs of inceiling speakers and looking at a good deal on some matching inwalls (1 pair). I've always wondered if I had my four in ceiling surrounds, what would happen if I also added a pair of sides speakers at ear height. Would it be more enveloping? Would it sound weir or would it be over kill?

I also could have them installed as height channel speakers. Thoughts?

Think you would have issues with lobing as Flint once told me about a decade ago.

Why?

What's the point?

Please don't make me start berating you the way I did Matt when he had a few dozen bottom of the line used center channel speakers piled up on and around his rear projection TV.

I can think of another person who thought more surround speakers were better. :scared-eek:

There's nothing to debate. I just know of someone who has something like 12 surround speakers hung from his rear and side walls. :animals-bunnywhite: :auto-ambulance: :flags-wavegreatbritain:

Sorry, Maximo. I got carried away...

The key is the proper implementation of the correct number of speakers. A proper 5.1 setup is VERY impressive and I would rather have that than a mashed together 7.1, let alone trying to add other speakers to the mix. That would really mess things up.

So, you having fish and chips for dinner every night now?

John

So what about height speakers? Any good or just more hype? I am already planning on a solid 7.1 system. Just checking my options.

I thought yromj already answered on that... :confusion-scratchheadblue:

Anyways, if that's what you really want to try, here's an option.

So here's your chance to say hi to him.

This is what he was building.

Back of those speakers.

John it wasn't fish and chips it was those pre packaged sandwiches and juice boxes. Lord I miss the bunny ears and fucking with him. Good times.

Matt whose also waiting on the porn pictures.

P.s. anyone else notice the sheet rolled up that he's using as a movie screen and the lone theater chair. Love the fact he's still using that 24" Sony standard def TV and still rocking the Prologic gear but he once was a projectionist so he obviously knows what he's doing. :eusa-clap:

well at least hes using a tripod and a microphone to get some scientific measurements to check if everythings hoighty toighty. :happy-smileygiantred:
