For a variety of reasons I was not planning to attend Ottawa's Bluesfest - now one of the largest music festivals going - this year.
One of those reasons was I'm trying to save cash for other uses.
The other is that while there's a few acts (of the hundreds) this year that I'd be happy to see, there was only one that I really wanted to see: John Fogerty. I'd thought of buying a one-day ticket to see him - but again decided to save the cash.
Today I got both a voicemail and email from someone at the club where I play basketball saying that I'd won a prize and should call him - which I did.
Seems that a few weeks ago I filled out a ballot while in the club's pub and my name was drawn. He wanted me to come and claim my prize: VIP super-special tickets (not sure how many) to Bluesfest this coming Sunday to see ..... John Fogerty!
