HBO to offer streaming-only online option in 2015

Cool! Wished ESPN, FOX Sports would do that (not have to have a sub for cable programming).

Very interested I how well this disrupts the pay TV model. Is a combined $100/mo for your favorite 10 channels a better value than $150/mo for 200 cable cable channels?

In my case, hell yeah. That's saving $50/month, for watching the same six channels in either case.
Streaming also lets me watch those six channels on my schedule, although now having a Hopper that advantage diminishes a lot.

In maybe-related news, it's looking like Amazon Prime is charging $2/episode for The Daily Show, no matter how old (until a couple weeks ago I could watch episodes a week old, no charge, and no commercials). :|

CBS is planning something similar.
I read that also. Sure hope ABC/ESPN (does ABC own Disney ?) Follows.

ABC, NBC, Fox and a number of cable channels covered by their parent companies are well covered by Hulu. CBS was the hold out. I think they may be over-valuing their content vs Netflix, Amazon and Hulu based on their $5.99/mo cost structure.
