Here Come The Mummies!

How, in the hell, can a band like this slip completely under my radar for over a decade?!?!?

They were featured in February's Keyboard, a mag I was almost ready to drop (they just earned another year's paycheck). Best way I could describe them is a mix of Fishbone, Zappa, ToP and a touch of last year's Gwar makeup. Fawnky as hell, hilariously obscene lyrics, horns, Party Central stage presence, and tighter than a nun's bum, everything I like in a band. Enjoy!

I would agree Botch! Very tight! Nice horns as well! One of my closest friends Marion, aka, Marilyn, just loves 'The Mummies'! She sends me a lot of their music from 'The Bob & Tom' radio play. Not really my thing, as far as music, but I do appreciate their talent!

No-L must've posted that during my sabbatical...

I read the full article after making my post. It sounded like everyone in the band were Nashville studio musicians, and the costumes were to protect their "professional" identity! (I've read many times that if you show up for a country recording gig, and warm up playing Chick Corea, Bach or funk, you're never hired again).
I'm still very happy to discover a relevant band that I'd never heard of, at my age. :handgestures-thumbup: :handgestures-thumbup: :handgestures-thumbup:

When their music started, why do I get this rhythm in my head? :eusa-whistle:

Nah, you originally heard it from the very last lick on Chase's "Get It On" :

(this is the first time I've seen that video, wow! Anyone here who's played in a marching band, knows this tune, but I bet you hadn't seen the original!) :music-rockout: :music-rockout: :music-rockout:
