How high is too high?

I think you’re fine either way.
If you're worried you can use painter’s tape to put an outline of the the screen at either height on the wall to decide if high is too high.

Jerk. Ha ha. I know I was paranoid. 28" high from the floor or 47" to the middle of the TV. It is going to take some slight adjustment. I did all the work on my own minus my wife helping me lift the tv onto the bracket.

Yes simple work for most but since I am owning a house for the first time and never grew up around someone to teach me this stuff, I am learning all on my own.

The trick was getting a new stud finder because my old one was crap. $20 well spent
 
I don't know, man. I saw that picture and for a moment thought "Wow, I must be pretty darned high."

Then I realized it was just a top-down view of trees.
