How to attach speakers to stands

I had 6" DIY PVC tube stands for well over a decade along with MDF platforms for the base and speaker plate with screws holding the plate to the speakers.

With the recent flood in my basement the MDF got soaked and malformed. Thus no longer usable.

I bought some Monoprice stands from Amazon:

How does everyone secure their speaker to the stand (beyond mass and gravity). They're my rear speakers behind the corners of my couch. I'd rather not leave them "floating".

Drill a screw through the plate?
3M Command strip Velcro?
Leave it floating?

I’d probably use a few thin strips of 3m double sided tape. Once it sets it’ll hold pretty damn well and anything else will leave just as much residue.

I have sorbothane pads between my speakers and the stands. They're intended to absorb vibrations but they're also fairly tacky to the touch. Tacky enough to keep them from being bumped off the stands inadvertently without permanently attaching them.
