lawdog2k's theater room

:text-thankyoublue:

We added three rooms and figured we'd do 'em right and up to how the house was buit in the first place. Decided we're gonna stay in this house for 20 years more, so what the heck? Blam....loan. We went from paid off house to paying it off for a couple decades in the swish of a pen. At least we got some room to grow.

I've been thoroughly thrilled with the setup. Quality abounds. The screen is smooth as silk. There are no creases, bumps, waves, or any of the sort.

Its a 120" 16:9 StudioTek130. I assempbled it myself, but the Mrs. helped me toward the end and helped me hang it.

So which frame is that if I may be so nosy? Is it the Luxus. If so, I think I know what I will be getting myself for Christmas!!

Wow, it's been a minute since I've been on! I have been too damn busy to get on any forums really. Anyways....the surround material is the velvet/velour material that comes on them. I didn't order anything special.

Here's some updated pics.... and I'll be around a bit more!

Equipment rack with thermostatically controlled fans. Never goes over 85f. To it's right is the dead vent. To the left one rack of movies and the movie server computer.

Hoply crap you've been busy! Awesome, all of it. The kitchen looks like it should be in a home decor catalog! Ok and I've just gotta say, that carpet in the theater is hella-cool.

Thank you, Sir. We had been given a budget of $35/yd for carpet. We picked some out. The mill told the supplier/installer it would be a while (long time) before they would be milling what we wanted. Builder/Supplier/Mill hashed it out and asked if we would like it instead ($49/yd) at no extra charge? Well, after about 5 seconds, we said sure. I guess so.

I am gonna build some stands to raise the towers about 18" to get them more in line with center of the screen but within 18" of the center channel (which I raised 6" from whats in the picture). by doing that I can try to get my 1st order and the rest of the side wall reflection points above the chair rail.

I have been dealing with Dennis Erskine on what I need to do and he is gonna run the fancy tests to tell me what I will need for acoustic treatments.

^ Fixed...

I love it all!! Everything is very tastefully executed. The rest of the house is okay too ;) Looks like another GTG is in order...
