So I came across a $17 device that lets me use my PS3 controllers on my PC
Mayflash Wireless PS3 Controller To PC USB Adapter
Came today. Got it installed, with a little futzing it seems to work. The cool thing is the Lego games for PC go for about $6-8 on G2A.com, whereas they're mostly at least $20 for the PS3 version. Anyway, now I can play these games on windows, so the graphics are better, the system is (presumably) more stable, and I'm not using the brick oven of my old-gen PS3 (it runs hot and loud).
In theory I can use it for other games, too... haven't tried it yet. But I'm so used to the PS3 controller having played just about all the Lego games that exist, it's great to be able to use the same controller on the PC now. And of course it allows me to use multiple controllers, which would be impossible with keyboard; my kids and I get a kick out of playing these Lego games together.
