Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I hope, i really do, hope that they do good on this one. I like some of the cast (wont ruin it), but man, the bars a bit high on this.

yes of course, but the fact that it was a monumental piece for westerns, I just hope they do it justice.

its like doing a dirty harry movie, or even death wish.

we got tickets for this yesterday (im glad we have an AMC close to our place, and love the reservation seats aspect of it)

in anticipation, i introduced the magnificent seven original to the wifey, and she LOVED it.

we also watched the 'linen book' extra, and man, it was nice to see or hear small tidbits about it.

(a small tidbit was that John sturges heavily believed to 'hire a heavy and everything else will fall into place' - not verbatim, but you know what i mean)

watched this with the wifey, and just got home.

well, i appreciated it, but with high hopes and expectations, i felt underwhelmed.

character development was weak, the storyline was a bit thin, and ... it felt like a 22 instead of a cannon.

i wont spoil anything, but i will probably leave more of my thoughts later on after a week or so.

on a sidenote, i only caught on afterwards that this is also Denzel/Ethan working together, like Training day days'....
