As most of you know, I love my Zune media players. I know they don't make them anymore, but they still have a Zune Marketplace to support the MS Windows Phone ecosystem.
Today I remembered a band I absolutely adored from the 1980s named The Producers and I wanted to get my hands on their self-titled album from 1981. However, it is long out of print and nobody could sell me a copy.
I've purchased MP3 tracks and albums from Amazon before, but I thought I'd try the Zune Marketplace and see what they had. The price was right, so I purchased the album from them. I didn't think much about the quality, because I wanted to hear the music, but I discovered the tracks were all encoded at 320kbps using a proper CODEC. They should sound pretty damn identical to the original studio tapes (my original copy was an LP, so these songs will definitely sound better than that shit).
I am very excited!
