It's too bad Michael Steele and the other three parted ways over ten years ago.
I highly recommend the concert DVD "Return to Bangleonia" which was recorded in 2000 but not released until 2007 - by which time Steele was gone. As far as I know it's the only full concert that the Bangles ever released on disc.
I'm probably not alone in saying that Hoffs was my favourite Bangle. I've got her three solo CDs and her three excellent "Under The Covers" CD collaborations with Matthew Sweet. This reminds me that I still need to pick up her two EP releases.
Sure, he wrote their biggest hit, but they were climbing in popularity long before they released Manic Monday. Nearly all of their other songs they wrote and arranged themselves. Heck, I learned about them just as their first major label release was coming out and all my friends in the college music scene were loving them. That's the same scene that spawned REM, Soundgarden, and other great acts from that era.
