.. if you don't care about what's right, or have morals, etc. Since this probably got buried in my other HP thread, I thought I would start a new one to alert people (not that people here wouldn't figure this out).

I got my Shure SE535s in the mail but there was a problem. The packaging was right, but instead of the 535s they were the older model 530s! They were definitely used - chipped on the housing, you can tell someone changed the sleeves, etc.

My guess is that someone figured this out - the models look exactly the same in terms of the housing except the color (black vs bronze). They must have had an old pair of 530s, ordered the 535s, returned the box with the 530s in to Amazon for a straight return, and kept the 535s. I seriously doubt anyone at Amazon would look closely enough to notice the difference when the box was returned.

So that guy got a free upgrade by scamming Amazon (and almost scamming me). Santa will be delivering some coal to that guy's stocking this year.
