OLED vs LED comparison

That was one of the reasons I went with a FALD (Full Array Local Dimming) LCD set. He hit on some of the others too, though they have more to do with the limitations of LG's processing than with the OLED panels themselves. The blacks on the OLED are a little bit better, but the LCD sets are at least twice as bright and that has advantages. I can also not stress enough how much better the image processing is on the Sony sets vs the LG sets. I was very unimpressed with what the LG did with 1080p content compared with Sony and Samsung.

There is another new display tech coming out that is basically luminescent non-crystals that has a ton of advantages over OLED. We probably won't see it in a production TV for a few more years.
