Once an asshat, always an asshat!

I guess the Asshat needs to start calling it the Beach Boys Tribute Tour.

What a douche!

I'm just surprised that Mike Love even has the authority to kick Brian Wilson out of the tour.

If I recall correctly Brian did not want anything to do with the Beach Boys, pretty much said he did not want to keep playing their old hits from the 60s. During those many years Love pretty much ran the whole thing, keeping the "brand" alive.

When I saw them at the old Cleveland Stadium at the first World Series of Rock in 1974 Brian was not involved. By the way that was a great show. In addition to the BB there was REO Speedwagon, Joe Walsh and Barnstorm and the original pre-plane crash Lynard Skynard.

you suck my friend...........would die to watch/listen to Joe Walsh (without the Eagles) & I also got to see Lynard Skynard in Houston before the plane crash (will never forget that concert).
I'm also waiting on Flint's take on this......

Never was much fan of the Beach Boys but reading on this I guess Love sued and was granted rights to the name Beach Boys so if anyone tours under that name he either has to be there of grant approval. To me it sounds like the rest are dumb asses to have allowed that.

I dunno. Seems like these articles are doing their best to tear Mike Love down. Sure, he's an asshat. No denying that! But Love didn't actually kick anyone off of the current tour. They're going to finish the current tour and then Love is going back to doing what he did before.

I seriously doubt this was a shock to either Brian, Al, or David that Love/Johnston would go back to playing the county fair circuit for peanuts along with their previous backing band. It was a 50th Anniversary reunion tour. I guess I never really had thought about the band possibly staying reunited and putting out another album. It does suck for us fans though, especially since BW and AJ seem willing.

Who knows... it wouldn't surprise me if we still end up seeing yet another Beach Boys album from BW/ML/AJ/BJ/DM within 2 years. And that, of course, is the only way it can happen, because Mike Love only has the touring rights to the Beach Boys name; he isn't licensed to release music as "the Beach Boys".

now that I think about it they're really old . as far as another new album it probably is now or never . but at least we had the 50th anniversary and one new album . it was more than I ever expected .

though I'd still really like to see a proper concert video and not that lame disc of interviews the released burley ur this year .
