Hello. Been awhile since I've been working full-time and going to school full-time (RN to BSN program). I have nothing but rave reviews for the Oppo headphone amplifier. I bought it about 3 weeks ago online. It also serves double-duty as a 3000 mAh lithium polymer rechargeable battery. It uses an ESS Sabre Reference ES9018-K2M DAC chip. It inputs stereo PCM and stereo DSD. PCM sampling 44.1 kHz - 384 kHz, 16/24/32 bit. Accommodates DSD 64-256. The Oppo quickly charges and it also quickly charges a phone or tablet.
It supports PC and MAC.
All for only $299.00
The sound? impressive! I mostly listen to Apple Lossless but have also added HD Tracks albums, Acoustic Sounds, and High Definition Tape Transfers. There is also a Native DSD website. I use the Onkyo HF Player App found in the App Store. I purchased the HD pack for I think $4.99 (the app alone is free). For MAC, you load the files in iTunes (as attachments in the HF Player).
One caveat. The amplifier does not work if you plug noise cancelling headphones into the phone jack of the amplifier. I tried my Bose. Tech support said to plug it in the line-out jack. It worked but there was too much static. I tried B&W headphones but got the same results. I ended up with a cheap set of Sony over the ear headphones ($60 but only cost me $20 at Best Buy since I had a $40 certificate).
I would recommend it highly. I'll try to post pics.
