Pat Travers and Geddy Lee

PRETTY HAPPY.........
Famous
Pat Travers posts on his FB page a Daily Music RX.

Today it was Rush, Tom Sawyer (that will strike a note with us that were at Towens GTF). He also notes the following:

-------------------

Ok hear's what I remember. We were touring with Rush. Maybe 1979? This was pre-mega stardom time for them. They were big but net yet "Huge". After a show or on a day off my band and crew and their band and crew were having a friendly drink in the hotel bar. Geddy Lee and I were sharing cocktails and conversation right at the bar. I'm not sure if he spilled his drink first or me mine. It doesn't ma...tter, we were starting to get some "dirty" looks from the staff so he and I headed up to my room to listen to some music on my boom box (pre i-pod!). Geddy pulled out a cassette and played some ruff-mixes of some new Rush stuff. I swear this was the tune he played me. I remember telling him that they were about to hit the "Big Time". I was right but, duh, come on what a cool tune! Ladies and Gentlemen, Madames et Monsieurs, Tutta La Genta! Rush...."Tom Sawyer"! Cheers, PT

I actually went to one of these shows back on LI NY. Pat's Album was Radio Active and Rush's was Hemispheres.
