Costco glass cleaner in the aerosol can is the BOMB!

Metal surfaces without paint, or other finishes, can be cleaned effectively with a caustic such as carburetor cleaner.

Yep, the Costco aerosol glass cleaner stuff that comes in 4-can shrink wrapped packages. Use it for everything.

BTW, the best contact cleaner I've ever encountered is Stabillant 22, which is available from Micro-Tools. http://www.micro-tools.com/store/SearchByKeyword.aspx?word=stabilant+22

This stuff is so good that Disney uses it to clean contacts in their coaster rides where lives depend on contact integrity (I learned about from an Disney Imagineer). Stereophile Magazine also recommends it (for what that's worth).
