By happenstance I ended up in a semi-open not-optimum listening room at a local area audio shop today listening to an incredible pair of speakers: the psb Imagine T3.

I spent a half hour or so listening to several tracks - mostly small jazz combos - and was extremely impressed with these speakers.

If you follow the link below you can find links to several reviews - for example there's one from Stereophile - so I won't go into any detail. Save to say that if anyone is considering dishing out ~$7500US for a pair of floorstanding speakers, you would be doing yourself a huge disservice if you did not audition the T3s. Trust me!

Many of you know that I am a big (big) fan of the Dynaudio Contour S 5.4 - having heard then at Razz', my friend Claude's, and, of course, at length at Bats'. I can honestly say that based on today's session alone (again in a non-optimal setting - albeit with some great gear driving it: Bryston amp and Cambridge Audio) the T3 sounds at least as good.

They are extremely neutral across the full (very wide) listening spectrum - as one would expect from psb (that still tests extensively in and with NRC Canada). Try as I might I could detect no flaws, nor weaknesses.

Jeff,
I am not surprised at all. Of course I am biased as I am a former owner of PSB Image speakers (a few steps down from Imagine) and a current owner of Platinums (former top of line PSB). I said it on the old forum and I will say it here again. I always thought that PSB never got the respect or attention it deserved, it seemed to be the shy sister in the corner in comparison to Paradigm.
Just my two cents!!

Thing is that psb generally flies under the radar because they are not flashy. Paul Barton has simply designed excellent speakers forever - and they all epitomize the "Canadian" sound.

IF I were looking for a new pair of high(er) end speakers, and had the available coin, right now it would be the Imagine T3.

I have always liked PSB, but they are not often in the shops where I can audition them. So, if I give advice, I give it on what I have heard. I have tried to speak highly of them over the years, I hope that wasn't missed.

Those look like very interesting speakers. I am interested in hearing them sometime.

I happened to be in a high-end showroom last weekend that carries PSB by sadly didn't get a chance to listen to any.
I don't think I'll be buying anytime soon but if I were to replace my living room speakers the PSB Imagine W3 would be at the top of my list to explore.

I really enjoyed the sound of the PSB speakers I had a chance to listen to. They were not their high end ones either, they were along the same price of my Paradigm monitor 11s. I forget the model number though, it was a while back. Really good overall.
