Well, guys, it is finally happening.
Barco is about to demonstrate the first production Laser light source cinema projector in Houston. It will smash their previous world record for brightness of 50,000 lumens, offer high frame rate than any recorded format supports, and resolutions of 4K and higher. It will be 100% color accurate and be capable of projecting a screen size larger than ever seen.
I spoke to their VP of Product development and they are working on bringing this technology to high end "videophile" users next year.
