Red Tails

Jan, Matthew, and I saw this in the theater a couple of weekends ago and thought it was very good. There was one particular part of the story which was too typically "Hollywood-ish" for me. If it weren't for that one element the movie would have been all-time favorite of mine. As it is, I will definitely buy it because I did like the movie so much. Even you don't like the movie, it will be incredible demo material (especially if it's done in 7.1) because it's got a TON of surround usage including MANY aircraft moving from front to back, etc.

On a side note, I'm not sure how this is related to The Muskegee Airmen on HBO. I noticed that the guy who plays the colonel in Redtails (the guy who played Rhodes in Ironman) is also in the The Muskegee Airmen. Given what I can tell, if the two are related, the HBO movie is sort of a prequel to this movie. BTW, as much as I hate WalMart, they have The Muskegee Airmen w/ a booklet for $10. I think I'll pick that up and give it a view.

Haven't seen this yet but plan to. I here the dog fighting scenes are incredible.

The one thing ive read that is not very accurate is the German jets the Luftwaffe didn't trust them yet as fighters and thus weren't used much for that purpose. And apparently from what I have read and gathered the Tuskegee airmen didn't encounter them.
