Refernce Level Question

I agree that correctly replicating a chopper in an HT is very difficult; however, my point is that people don't want correct replication. They want footsteps to rattle the couch.

Cool story about he helo pilot.

On a semi-related topic, over the years I've had a few non-HT friends over who have all asked for the same thing concerning a demo: "Play something with a plane flying overhead." I've never once been able to accommodate them. Is there a generally accepted go-to scene in some movie that has an impressive effect involving a plane flying overhead?

Yes... one of the best movies ever made for natural-ish sounding super-soundtrack... Heat.

Near the end the protagonist is chasing the antagonist at the end of the LAX runway.

You also have the amazing bank-robbery shoot-out scene in downtown LA with reverberations coming off all the buildings.

That is one of the best show-off soundtracks ever.

There is also the Mel Gibson movie "We Were Soldiers" for great helicopter fly-overs.

The Lego Movie (toy helicopter).

Keep in mind that you also need these to make it worthwhile.
