The first I've heard of this thing was reading Popular Mechanics just now; supposed to be out summer this year. Convenient!

For those without Smart TVs............

1) Can you use the dongle on a PS3 and/or USB equipped Bluray player?

2) what does the Roku dongle do that a PS3, or network ready Bluray player, can't?

First question, I can't answer; but, I'm sure you can plug it into an HDMI input in your AVR, or into a port in your TV,

Second Question, absolutely nothing. Roku gives Wifi/net capability to systems that don't have it. When everyone has either a net-ready player or TV, Roku better have a new product ready for market.

From the article:

the device requires a Mobile High-Definition Link-enhanced HDMI port, which is currently only on a small handful of ultra high-end Toshiba and Samsung HDTVs.

^^^^ Whoops! I remember reading that now, but it didn't sink in at the time of my reply. So I would have to have a new TV (Mine has HDMI 1.3 only ports).

Thanks for the clarification Mz.
