Carronet! Incidently, he uses a tape loop or digital loop at the beginning, to set up a chord to jam on, near the beginning of the performance. I've seen Jaco Pastorius and Herb Ellis do this before...
 
Heh, heh... and here I was expecting the Quincy Jones soundtrack album from the movie. But that video was pretty freakin' awesome nonetheless. Genuine roots music, to be sure!
