Makes me wanna go the rest of my life w/o getting in the ocean. Jo and I are watching these guys tracking and studying tiger sharks...these predators are just fucking scary. I'm not sure I could encounter anything that would freak me out more....besides a gator/croc :scared-eek:

yeah them Tigers are so dangerous one lil nip and a limb is gone. There different in the type of prey they eat than a Great White. The eat Sea turtle so there teeth and are made for biting through stuff. The surfer girl who lost her arm was from a Tiger.

I think there not going to be happy till they get a diver eaten on live TV during shark week it just keeps getting crazier and crazier.

When I was in Hong Kong back in the mid 90's, a 44 year old woman was attacked and killed by a Tiger Shark at a very popular beach; Repulse Bay. I will never forget this because we were there on that beach the day before.

I have been on many offshore shark fishing trips and these creatures have NO FEAR of anything. Our largest catch was a 380 lb Mako about 40 miles out in the Atlantic off of LI NY.

When Frank Mundus used to fish from Montauk, on LI. We used to go out there to see when he would bring in huge Great White Sharks. Frank was the inspiratioin for the character Quint in the book/movie Jaws.

Guys down here fish the surf, on South Padre Island, yes the surf for sharks and it is amazing the size and different species that they catch right of the beach. Needless to say, I am not as keen on going into the water as I used to be.

Let's face it Sharks are COOL!!!

No it isn't, even the sharks would reject Razz! :hand: :happy-smileygiantred:
I wonder if the chemical residue of coke & rum works as repellent to certain species on earth. I mean, the sailors drank rum...

Its images like that that freak me the hell out. That picture could be staged for all know, but the reality is that they're out there lurking....yikes

I've seen that before and from what I recall it is altered/photoshopped.

I stand corrected.

The photograph is real, no photoshop, no digital manipulation, no nothing, in fact it was shot on slide film Fuji Provia 100 using a Nikon F5 Camera and 17-35 mm lens. For those conspiracy fans who still doubt its authenticity please read how I took the photograph.

At least this one is real:

Actually....that one and the one Heeman posted are dolphins.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The proportions of the body/head to the Pectorial Fin is not typical of a Dolphin.

Either way, the sharks are out there and you have better odds to get killed driving to work than to be killed by a shark while in the water. Just like a fatal plane crash, when these incidents happen it typically makes the news.

Razz, let us know when you get attacked, you spend a ton of time swimming with those beasts!! :scared-eek:

I used to dive extensively and have never been concerned about sharks.

Although, one time I swam over a nurse shark who was on the sandy bottom, about 45ft below surface....I was maybe 5 or 10 ft above it, and when I scared it....it took off and scared the shit out of me.......one big, fast swimming fish, and I NEVER even saw it.
