Better get your replacement phono cartridges sooner rather than later.

I think we've discussed this awhile ago... mostly the surprise they were still making a cartridge.

When I was shopping for a cartridge about a year ago, shure had two models.

I dont know if this is a game changer for the industry, but the company was well known for their cartridges for decades. We still have hundreds of other options available.

There are now, and have been for awhile cartridges which are as good or better than what Shure has been making in the last decade or so. Ortofon, Audio-Technica and probably a dozen others. The Ortofons in particular are priced from very inexpensive on up, so Shure leaving the market is not going to have much consequence. I would also bet that the majority of younger vinyl buyers don't even know that there was a company named Shure who made cartridges!
