Solution to the terrible TV speakers

I got sick of the sound of the TV speakers in our living room (my system is in our bedroom) so I started looking for a cheap solution. Fortunately out Toshiba LCD has Variable Audio Out so all we needed was a little amp and a pair of cheap speakers.
After some research and looking around the web, we decided to get the little Lepai class T amp and a pair of Teac LS-H265 bookshelves.

$25 for the amp and $90 for the speakers. Not bad for $115. Now I can watch movies downstairs with my wife because I refused to before because of the terrible TV speakers sound.






 
I would bet that the closed in surroundings contributed to the speaker problem. Some of these tv speakers are not facing the front and direct a reflected off the back wall sound. They may also only be 1 or 2 inch speaker elements.

It is always a good thing to be able to enjoy time with the SO.
 
How do you like that Class T amp? I have toyed with getting one for my garden shed. I spend a lot of time there, ha.
 
Nice budget solution. That's the bad thing about the newer tv's, the sound is almost always shit.
