Sony drops out of disk media, entirely

This sends me into a bit more despair. When Oppo pulled the plug on disk players I bought two more, as insurance (I have a pretty good collection of Blurays, 5.1 SACDs, and a few DVD-A's). I'm now on my second one, and it's starting to skip randomly. They (in my experience) can't be fixed.
That leaves only Panasonic, which don't play DVD-A nor even SACD; there is one more that CheapAudioGuy above mentions, but they're $$$$ and as I stated, unreliable and unrepairable.
I'm about ready for that random bus to jump a curb and take me out; I'm tired of fighting this.... :disappointed:

I've had a couple of experiences recently that embolden me to give you this advice: let go of the past and embrace the current state. Stop fighting. Pick a streaming service and go all-in. For me, it's Apple Music. I have a nice little bundle that includes cloud storage and Apple TV (Ted Lasso, Silo, MurderBot, Widow's Bay, and more) and life is good. Don't let the chase for perfection hinder your enjoyment of a ginormous library of content presented in good to great formats.

Well Chuck, I have; got a Cambridge audio streamer/DAC about a year ago, think I've only purchased 2 CDs since then. However, to my knowledge I can't stream 5.1 or greater, and I have very few movies; most of my Blurays are concert videos and Apple Music (which I have along with Tidal) has almost no concerts in its library.
And I was in a pretty piss-poor mood yesterday; am VERY happy today, but won't say why. I'll survive. ;)
