STAND MOUNT SPEAKERS

what do you guys use to help keep speakers from falling off stands easily? I would like to be able to get some from lacal stores like bb-radio shack,home depot-ect..

(incidentally, there's some pretty gruesome photos and x-rays when you google-image "nail gun"... :scared-eek: )
 
you can also get some 3M velcro thingies, they are also removable like their other stuff, and dont cost much.
 
If the Blu Tack doesn't work and Botch's suggestion proves to be insufficient, may I suggest...

Get stands that can be filled with sand. Once they are less top-heavy they should be fine. I had 40lb Mackie monitors on small stands for a couple of years. Another improvement is to make larger top plates.

I agree. I made my top plates equal to the speakers W and D.
 
I built stands using large PVC pipes, filled them with sand, topped with a platter my Mackies sit on (= in W x D to the speakers)
and drove a screw through the bottom of the platter and into the speaker.

No way do I want that thing falling on my child...
