Star Wars 3D

Just got the Jan issue of Home Theater, and George Lucas has announced that the six Star Wars theater-re-released films, set to start coming out in 2012 (starting with The Phantom Menace), will be done in 3D.
I've seen 3D done from original 2D source before, and it looked, uh, not good. However, it may have been a TV's own conversion, not something done by a bunch of studios with a lot of money. We'll see...

Somebody deserves huge props because I remember someone posting that Lucas wasn't going to bring SW to bd right away because he was waiting for some new 3D tech to come out. Well, it seems that we're here.

So are the 3D versions coming to BD or only to theaters?

If they are on BD can you play them in 2D?

It's kind of cool, I suppose, but I personally don't have any interest in seeing Star Wars in 3D. Heck, 3D or not, I've already watched these movies more times than enough.

I can't think of a more deserving individual to give my money to than George Lucas, well, perhaps Bill Gates?

Make a movies series and continue to re-release if for the next forty years...YES! :eek:bscene-birdiedoublered:

No way in hell.

I wont even buy the original three on blu, they already look better then in the 70's on DVD. :)
