Wondering what would be a good cost effective amp to drive this sub? Yes it's the unpowered version, thanks.

Intresting choice. I would hope you were in the ballpark with that suggestion considering it's pretty darn cheap.

Think I'll shoot an email to SVS and see what they say. I'm thinking it's going to want 300 watts or more, hope I'm wrong.

There's a bigger version of that parts express Dayton audio sub that does 1000W.
 
Many pro-amps have options for built in crossovers, but I don't know at what price point that starts.
 
I ended up buying a 250 watt class A/B Dayton Audio plate amp.
Extremely happy with the amp. I forgot just how great these old SVS Tube subs were for the money.
 
Not yet but it's plenty loud outside the house. This is my first time with a sub on a second floor. My old systems were always on the first floor on a slab. There's no need for bass shakers here!
