The Flaming Lips - Smoke On The Water

PRETTY HAPPY.........
Famous
I got this CD (Re-machined; A Tribute To Deep Purples Machine Head) the other day and was like WTF, when this song came on!

So bizarre I think I like it! :happy-smileygiantred:

I saw the FL open for the Red Hot Chili Peppers once. "Bizarre" is a good word for it.

^ The first time I saw them was on Palladia. They were doing the complete "Darkside Of The Moon" album at some Spring Break party at a beach on the Gulf Coast somewhere. Also very bizarre. I had no knowledge about them at all. When I read up on them I was surprised at how long they had been together and their history.

Some of the tracks on the Re-master Deep Purple tribute are killer................

I think I have all of their stuff from the 2000s onwards - including three in 5.1 on DVD-A. To say that they are an acquired taste would be a bit of an understatement. To be honest, I can't say that I truly enjoy their "music," however if I'm in the right "spaced-out" mood and just want to chill and let my brain go numb (without resorting to hallucinogens) I will put them on, with the HT lighting dialed way back. WARNING: those on anti-depressants should not try that without adult supervision.
