Gold -- CD

Steely Dan

1991 MCA Records

Amazon.com

Not exactly a greatest-hits package (A Decade of Steely Dan gathers, and more prudently chooses, more), not quite a sampler (it includes Donald Fagen solo tracks), but Gold is nonetheless a useful thing for those unwilling to spring for the sweeping Citizen Steely Dan 4 CD set. For one thing, it has low overlap with Decade: The two share only "Deacon Blues," "Babylon Sisters," "Hey Nineteen," and "Bodhisattva"--the last in different versions. The two compilations together do a good job of summarizing the band's high points, and in the absence of a more comprehensive domestic sampler, that'd be about the best way to go. For "Josie," however, you'll have to go back to Aja. --Gavin McNett

"Hey Nineteen" – 5:05
"Green Earrings" – 4:07
"Deacon Blues" – 7:32
"Chain Lightning" – 3:00
"FM" – 5:06
"Black Cow" – 5:08
"King of the World" – 5:03
"Babylon Sisters" – 5:51
"Here at the Western World" – 4:02
"Century's End" (Fagen, Meher) – 5:31
"True Companion" (Fagen) – 5:10
"Bodhisattva" (Live) – 7:42

Got to see those guys live in Nashville about two months ago. Holy shit, were they awesome! Probably the best show I've heard to date.

Had no idea they were touring.......would love to see them.

There website says..... "New York City's Beacon Theatre, October 6 - 17"

I sincerely hope they release a Bluray/DVD of this tour. Elvis Costello was the opening act. Not his biggest fan, but I thought his show was great too.

Damn.........I hope so too!!

Two Against Nature was their last DVD Concert and even though it is in 4:3, it was great!

A new Blu Ray Concert from them would be awesome.

The different nights at the Beacon will be different set list that revolve around some of their best albums......

The closing night just looks awesome...............

5. Don't Touch Me
6. Hold Me

God Willin' & The Creek Don't Rise -- CD

Ray LaMontagne & The Pariah Dogs

2010 RCA Records

2010 release, the fourth album from the Grammy nominated and critically acclaimed singer/songwriter. Entirely self produced, the album was recorded in two weeks at LaMontagne's home in the woods of western Massachusetts. The newly restored historic home served as a homemade recording studio for Ray and his fellow musicians. With Ray's vocals at the forefront of the songs and a loose, almost live sounding recording, the album stands as a testament to a band at the height of their powers. The newly coined 'Pariah Dogs', consists of Jay Bellarose (drums), Jennifer Condos (bass), Patrick Warren (keyboard), Eric Heywood (guitar) and Greg Leisz (pedal steel guitar).

1. "Repo Man" 6:08
2. "New York City's Killing Me" 4:13
3. "God Willin' & the Creek Don't Rise" 3:10
4. "Beg Steal or Borrow" 4:32
5. "Are We Really Through" 4:59
6. "This Love Is Over" 3:30
7. "Old Before Your Time" 4:04
8. "For the Summer" 3:52
9. "Like Rock & Roll and Radio" 6:05
10. "Devil's in the Jukebox" 3:59
