What happened to you Zing?

In your youth, did someone force you to listen to good music while being forced to view the most violently atrocious images and scenes known to man? Did a girl who loved great pop-rock spurn you?

I mean, how is it every single music artist I love more than sex you declare a agressive hatred towards?

First it was the Who and their epic and life-changing "Quadrophenia," then Kate Bush, Jellyfish, and others. But the final nail in the coffin was XTC... really? XTC? I understand not loving them, not everyone loves them, but you HATED them... I mean... HATED!!!! with more capital letters than can be typed here.

I love you as a friend, even as a brother. I would gladly let you take over the fatherly duties to my already adult sons (who have already developed their tastes for great music). I would trust you as the executor of my will to help my wife unload my hometheater gear and drums, but I'd never let you near my CD collection.

There may come a time we will agree on a great piece of music. But I think we are more likely to see Israel and Iran holding hands on the beach staring lovingly into each other's eyes before them.

My, my, you boys are on a roll today! In multiple threads no less. :laughing-rolling:

For the record, I never once used, implied or insinuated any form of the word 'hate'. I didn't hate the music I heard on Drums and Wires. But I didn't like it one bit either. Well, the multichannel surround presentation was pretty tasty so I guess I did actually like one bit of it. The rest of the time there was just too much going on all at the same time. Those guys seem to having placing notes down pat. I think they need to learn where not to place a note.
