So i go all the way back to the dolby surround days before anyone had dedicated a subwoofer channel let alone multiple.
When Dolby Pro Logic came a long, a properly designed HT had 5.1 (point) channels. It was referred as 5 point 1 for years. Then 7 point 1 etc...
Then along came the "creators" via YouTube and such and all started using "dots". 9 dot 2 dot 4 etc. I drives me bonkers.
Even when they refer to screen size they say 2 dot 35 to 1, which is clearly a number and a ratio. We do not refer to ratios by "dots".
I honestly think it makes them sounds like idiots.
