I found this story rather amusing, especially since I dropped out of vinyl way back in the late 80's. So I don't have a real opinion, other than I admire this guys bank account. That and I think most audiophiles are neurotic nut jobs.

I'm now regretting not taking the time to sell off most of my mother's vinyl collection. Years ago she had a used book and record store, recently she wanted me to sell a few of the records for her and I could keep the profits. Procrastinator that I am never got around to it, her and my stepdad took them to a vinyl auction and got a couple hundred bucks. However she did keep the cream of the crop. Rolling Stones, Beatles etc... So maybe someday, I will find some "White Hot Stampers" left over.
