Wicked

My Xmas gift to my wife this year was tickets to see Wicked at the Fabulous Fox Theater. We went last night and enjoyed the hell out of it. She had to twist my arm to see a show on Broadway back in 2005 but I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. We saw another in New York last year. I was impressed with the quality of this traveling production so I think I will continue to keep my eye on the schedule for the Fox. If you haven't seen this show, I recommend it highly. My favorite song was Defying Gravity. It's been in my head ever since.

That's cool. Is that based on this novel? I assume so... I enjoyed reading this one a lot, a very well done book.

Yes, it's based on that book although I think think it was lightened up a bit. My wife read the book and she felt like the main character of Elphaba was more likable in the musical than the novel.

Would love to visit that theater, that looks gorgeous! :scared-eek:

Your hesitancy for a broadway show reminds me of when I took What's-her-name to Vegas for her birthday, and told her I'd take her to any show she wanted to see....

Riverdance?!?! :angry-banghead:

Guys in tights. Tap-dancing. For 2+ hours... :eek:bscene-hanged: :puke-front:

I got a few brownie points, but not near enough.

There were 5 theaters built by the Fox company around the same time and they all are similar from what I understand. This one was built in 1929. The others are in The Bronx, Atlanta, Detroit, and Oakland. The one here in St. Louis is supposedly most similar to the one in Detroit. I've also been to the one in Atlanta a couple times. It's a great experience, like a step back in time.
