I have always been intrigued by Audioengine and if I ever get a desk that is solely mine, I plan to get a pair of them.

When you drop hammer on the A5s, spend the extra geeza and opt for the bamboo.

Bamboo looks really nice but its soft and scratches very easily.

Carbonized bamboo is used for flooring, and considered a hardwood.

I found a nice pair of powered studio monitors (amps built in) just needed a 3/4" plug to Red and White RCA cables (Rat Shack sells em for about 5.00) pluged the 3/4 plug into back of computer and RCA to each speaker and now get awesome sound for my itunes (or video watching) Cost me about 80.00 at a pawn shop. Way better than standard computer speakers.
