I think it was staged. The dork in the front seat asked the dork in the back seat, "Hey, You got any of those Mentos left?" If he didn't know he dropped them in soda, why would he use that phrase? I wold expect him to say something like "Can I have one of those Mentos?"

7. Carefully replace soda bottle on picnic table
