HD400 versus HD598

like mentioned above..please audition the HD 600s, they are a nice little step up from the HD 598s.
Also... if you are going to bite the bullet and upgrade, then audition some other models too.

Razz,

I can't comment on the sound of the HD600 versus the HD598, but I have no doubt that what you say is true. However right now the HD598 (burl wood finish - Oooo!) is $180C and the HD600 is $500C on Amazon.ca - which is a huge step up. I'd almost recommend that Mike break out a roll of duct tape to use on his old cans rather than dropping $500C. :)

Again, with somewhat limited listening experience, I don't know how much better one could do than the HD598 (with burl wood finish - Oooo!) at $180C (which is roughly $135US).

I know that if someone were to order $180 worth of copies of my book from me right now (as great Xmas gifts for friends and loved ones!) I would turn around and order a pair for myself!

Jeff

I ordered the HD598 (burl wood finish-Oooo!). I will be happy. I am a middle of the road kind of guy!!
