What Are You Listening To?

I've been enjoying Ride's "Carnival of Light". The very first listen I heard a lot of what reminded me of The Stone Roses. I've had Ride's greatest hits album for close to 20 years but never really connected with it. I don't think I'm big on the shoe gazing stuff. But I really like Carnival of Light. Much more polished.

I'm too dumb to figure out how to just link the artwork on my phone rather than upload. So here's a link, I guess.

Cat Stevens has done a "remake" of Tea for the Tiller man. Same songs beefed up instrumentation and production.

Just started listening to it via Amazon Music

One gent I've been following on EweTube is Rick Beato. He somehow gets the multitrack tapes of many big or important hits, and dissects them, and the videos are usually called "What Makes This Song Great?"
Here he walks through Jaco Pastorius' reading of Charlie Parker's "Donna Lee", and I'll admit 90% of this flies over my head, but it's still fascinating to me. Enjoy!

Hey Botch,
I found another time waster for you on the Ewetube. Leland Sklar of The Section. Just the nicest guy and obviously a world class bass player! He plays along with songs he has done or just talks about stuff!!

Bruce back with the E Street Band

I really like Amazon Music Unlimited. Costs $79/year thousand ( maybe millions) of songs/albums and all new releases are available on the release date. And I easily spent that amount on new music in a month in the "old" days

A lot of old school hip hop which is not normally in my wheel house but I am diggin it for sure.
