I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
I'm another fan of accessories4less. If you like Denon they carry them too. Last one I bougdt was a Marantz SR5009. I had to get a HDFury Integral for my setup with Samsung 4k.
The Marantz SR6011 will have refurbed which is 1 year newer than Haywood's.
That price you are seeing may include your local channels in Houston. Vue only has locals in some areas and its $10 more.
I used to have Sling but the ESPN was on one package & FS1 & FS2 were on the other package and no DVR. When Vue became available on Roku, I dropped Sling and got Vue.
I am loving my middle tier, 70+ channels with Playstation Vue for $35 a month. Vue has a DVR, using it for AMC to watch The Walking Dead. with this package is all the ESPN channels, Fox Sports channels, SEC, Big10, and my local Longhorn network.
Some cities get their local channels as well.
I...
I hate watching AMC, 5 minutes of the movie then at least 6 commercials. this is going to be hell watching season 7 on AMC. I have Playstation Vue using my Roku 4, have it scheduled on the Vue's DVR but haven't figured out how to skip through the commercials.
If using Toslink out TV to a sound system you only get 2 channel audio. Most movies/shows have DD+. I have this to get 5.1 DD+, Roku 4 > HDFury Integral (because my AVR isn't HDCP2.2)>Marantz SR5009>Samsung SUHD. Now this is a 4k system.
To get DD+ on a 1080P, you need a AVR that can decode DD+...
Good choice. Would be nice if a 6011 shows up on their site later.
I'm loving my SR5009 from accessories4less , have a HDFury Integral so I can passthrough 4k through it since the 5009 isn't HDCP2.2 compliant.
I just got back my Oppo BDP-80 that I sent in for repair. Their charge was $59.99 for repairs & shipping back to me.
Out of the blue it didn't complete handshake, was getting the dreaded pick screen. Oppo found out it needed a firmware designed for the new HDCP2.2 protocol. The engineer asked...
Me & my son watched this season of DCI competition. Bluecoats won their first World Championship this year.
My son is thinking about trying out for Blue Devils B which won open class this year. Their camp is in California close to where my daughter and her family lives.
Well my friends, not only is The Abyss coming out on bluray but also 4K UHD and maybe 3D in 2017. I'm on my phone so no links.... avs has a thread about it. This movie & alot of others they have been holding back.
I want to live to see this....
DCI SW Championship yesterday in San Antonio's Alamodome has a new record crowd of over 14 thousand. Son was there with his High School but I watched the live feed, still weak from chemo.
#1 Bluecoats
#2 Carolina Crown
#3 Blue Devils
This just may be the year Bluecoats win their 1st World...
I do like how Sony uses each individual LED instead of panels of LED's. Gotta have a bad ass processor & be very fast. Just praying my Sony Bravia 1080p LCD holds out for a few more years.
Loving my Samsung SUHD too !
Impressive sets & expensive , at those prices you should be looking at OLED's, but will come down some. Still the 4k tech hasn't settled in yet. No Dolby Vision and suppost to be HDMI 2.1 coming soon, seems the HDMI boards are overmaxed now. At least some progress.......like snale mail though.
