1000 words!

He is busy playing with his new toy.
This!

Keep in mind this has been a major overhaul. First the new TV, then a new receiver, bumped up to atmos config., built acoustic panels, and now new subwoofer.

I'm still trying to get my old Denen DVD-2200 incorporated into the mix but I had to get an analog to digital switch etc. and I still don't have it going. I might just have to bite the bullet and finally get a blu-ray.

Going atmos has been a blast. I really enjoy the added layer of sound.

I am really loving the new TV! The new receiver is great! The new atmos config is great!

But by far the greatest difference in the quality and improvement in the sound of the HT has been the acoustic panels and the new sub!

I can't even begin to explain how much of a difference properly treating the acoustic characteristics of the room have made. My room had almost a 2 sec. 'slap' echo reverb and I have eliminated that. Now you can actually 'feel' the room get quieter when you walk into it. I can play content much louder without things sounding harsh. The front speakers now have a much more defined soundstage. I always knew @Flint knew what he was talking about when it came to acoustics but I never invested the time and effort to seriously address the issues my room had. Well I can honestly say if you are on the fence, get off because it makes the second most important difference in the impact and overall sound of your space.

I say second because the most impactful addition has to be the sub.
PSA TV2112m
I was running a SVS PB12plus/2 so I went from 2 12' drivers and a 900 watt amp in one box to a 21' driver and ~2000 watts.
Needless to say it makes a difference!
Waaay more output below 30hz. There are things rattling in my house now that never did before. Its actually pretty stupid the amount of bass this thing produces and I have it dialed in and not running 'hot' at all. Since I don't currently have any DVD or Blu ray hooked up I haven't explored any of the recommended bass demo movies but I have streamed some Netflix and Disney + stuff just to get some atmos exposure. I can say there has been a few times where I was watching something and had to swallow to equalize the pressure in my ears.

The SVS was getting the job done (or so I thought) and I was well pleased with its output. What prompted me to get a new sub was to tame nulls and get a more even response. Because of that I am now running them dual. I haven't pushed them together yet to see if I can tell whether the SVS is holding the PSA back. Right now they are playing well together, I still need to play around with placement options but its just me and a sound meter so these things take time.

The SVS was good, this PSA is great!

Thank you much for sharing. Yes the acoustic panels (thanks @Flint for that knowledge years ago - 20+ years ago) was eye opening. Yes the PSA has to be a beast and not running it hot I bet it still sounds phenomenal. I have an older sony es 4k player and still love it. I have a 2017 tv so the new hdr10+ and stuff isn't needed on that tv since the player doesn't do. But the images are still great.

Blade runner 2049 is bonkers on bass and Atmos. My high recommend. Of course dune 1 and 2 are the same. So jealous but also so happy for you. Enjoy the heck out of it!

Oh to add my 15 15v PSA does the Nolan level stuff because that's 20-25 hz and sounds great. The lower mine doesn't do as well. Interstellar is bonkers during the black hole scenes. Can only imagine your sub yawns at those scenes.

Oh PSA is doing a prototype that's 6 21" subs and a 12000 watt amp that needs a 240 volt outlet. Lol
