C1's + 13

Straight up, Doctor Small, of the infamous Thiel-Small parameters, would be blown away by what Heeman has accomplished with these bass bins. With zero stuffing or damping, those 13" woofers are performing at peak efficiency and producing damn near ideal acoustical performance in a pretty darn ideal room. The acoustic performance from 40Hz to 200Hz is as ideal as it gets. Damn you, Heeman!!!

And just think....if he didn’t have those inferior speakers he wouldn’t have had to build the bass boxes.

After finishing these on Wednesday I boarded a plane to hang in Texas with Flint. 2 other Audio Annex friends visited on Saturday. I got home on Sunday around dinner time. Before I ate dinner I walked downstairs to check out the finishing job. I modestly will say I am really happy. I pulled one into the HT and almost cried.

Barb was great and cleaned up the mess while I was partying in TX.

On Monday I went to work. Tuesday early AM I left for the airport for another trip to California.

My goal on Saturday AM is to reassemble these, get them up on foam and finally see a finished front stage in the HT.

What a great journey this has been.

The above post was generated by a guy that is traveling, has drank 1 to many, bored and wants to get HOME!!!

However, I not complaining.... Life is good, very good!

This sort of thing would work for the foam under the 13" cabinets:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00COVEJ1E/ref=twister_B00M1L1ADM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Or, you could get enough of these (at least four per channel) to put under them:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BRPM8K8/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B07BRPM8K8
With the ability to support 16lbs each, four would support as much as 64lbs.

I looked at the foam the drivers were packed in. I have enough to support a fairly large area on each corner. I think I am good. The original foam I bought was good for the C1 isolation, but was not dense enough to handle the weight of the woofers.

Awesome but knowing you Keith, I have to ask. Are you finished with the theater or just the bass bins?
