What's neat about this Japanese virtuoso is he wrings this beautiful music out of an instrument that virtually anyone can afford, and don't need an amp for... Back when music programs were funded in public schools we all learned to play recorders; I got to be pretty good on one but an equally-inexpensive instrument (the uke) on which I could've also played chords would've advanced my, and anyone else's, musical path so much faster...
I've resisted buying a uke myself; its tuned differently than fiddle/mandolin, which I do play, and I feel like it'd be like trying to learn to type on QWERTY and DVORAK keyboards simultaneously.

Yesfan, your kid has a bicycle, doesn't he??? The chance of being hit in the eye with an overtightened nylon string is negligible... Get him one!

Thank you.

I am actually hoping to be able to do Staireway to Heaven after a couple months.

I've always wanted to play a Uke. I almost considered getting my son a cheap one to play on, but then my common sense kicked in before ordering. I could just see him messing with the tuning pegs, and one of the strings break and smacks him in the face.

Lots of good Uke videos on You Tube too Mz...."My dog has fleas!"

really dude? He's a kid, and if he doesn't get hurt you're not letting him be one.

I stink, it's called talent those others have. I'll cover this song maybe.
