Heeman's New DIY MTM Project

Big step today!

Glued the tee-pee's to the back of the baffle.

Prior to this, I connected the wires for the midranges.

I needed to get them straight and centered.

The level was clamped in place to give me a straight edge on one axis at the correct distance. I lined up the tee-pee's and outlined them.

Knowing that the tee-pee's will slide on the glue, I used the clamps to progressively apply pressure as they were aligned. Once aligned, I placed 70 lbs on top.

Fingers crossed at this point. Tomorrow AM I will remove the weights and clamps and repeat this process on the other baffle.

I went back thru the thread to make sure I didn't just miss it. What drivers are you using? Are you using external electronic crossovers? What is your plan for amps?

This will be an MTM Design using the Ultra-Low Distortion Purifi Midrange drivers and Morel TSCT Tweeters.

Active crossovers. MiniDSP 2X4HD.

My Parasound Halo A21 will drive the midrange. (This is currently driving the C1's)

I am taking a high current class A/B, 80W/channel amp out of storage to drive the tweeters.

Wow. I just went to Madisound and ran the math. Those things are going to be an absolutely insane value for that kind of performance.

I was pretty close. I estimated $3K +/-. Those are going to be INSANE for that money. I want to build something that nice someday.
Considering the C1's were $8K/pair these should be killer for the money.

Without Franklin's design skills this would not be possible.

Also the ability to tune them specifically to my excellent room, the results should be amazing.

Franklin's designs are incredible. I'd go with something he designed over anything I'm going to find in a store.
