Nov/Dec of 2013

The preview was shown at the new Dark Knight movie. Looks to be on par with the rest of the LOTR saga.

Can't wait!!

From everything I have heard what you have above is the correct date Barn.

I think I remember seeing that date too as I saw the preview when I went to see The Avengers.

Can't wait!

So I saw something in today's newspaper about this now being a trilogy? Wow, they're really milking it. Sigh.

I hope not. I thought it was going to be two movies at best. I don't even see that as it's no where near as long as the three books of the LotR. Personally, I think a 2.5-3 hour single movie should cover the main story.

Sounds like it will not be as faithful to the book. Not too keen on that.

That is one thing I liked about LOTR, they didn't add stuff in fact left some out.(Tom Bombadil comes to mind)

I was a little miffed that this was going to be two movies. I trust Peter Jackson's movie making, I'm just not convinced I want ANOTHER three movie tour of Middle Earth.

I agree. I think two is enough if they are not too long (sort of how the last two Matrix movies were done). Three is too many, but hopefully Pete can pull it off.

The thing that struck me about the LOTR movies, especially Mordor, was how closely it looked like the pictures I'd formed in my head after reading the books. :eusa-clap:

I kept saying, "They got it right!! That's exactly how I pictured it!!"

Personally, given the way PJ was able to tell the LOTR story, I will trust his judgement on this. If he has enough quality material to bring out the details in the book, then I think it will be great.

I think in the middle of December, the majority of the members of this forum will be raving about the movie and drooling for the blu-ray.

I guess Stephen Colbert has a cameo in one of the Hobbit films. Or so the rumor mill is saying, anyway.

OK, set me straight here... this film is actually coming out this December 14th (2012)???
