Inception

Just watched this on Bluray yesterday, great movie with a fine cast. Left you thinking in the end and open for a sequel. Too bad it has to be Pete Postlewaite's last performance, and it would have been nice if he had had a larger role in the film.
Rob
SPOILER!

I'm not convinced they left it open for a sequel (yes the way it ended theoretically they could do one) because Cobb and the crew completed their mission. He just left that little teaser with the top/totem to let the audience decide if he is dreaming...did it keep spinning, did it fall over? Cut to black, WTF just happened? I think Nolan will let this movie stand on it own

Great movie IMO, saw it twice and it was even better! Far as sequel I' don't see thme making one either, the movie ended to leave the audience thinking.

Bought this movie with some X-mas gift cards I had and I don't know what the guys at AVS are talking about. My room was shaking like a MF with all the deep bass. :handgestures-thumbup:

I agree. My daugther came out of her room complaining that her bed was shaking :D Overall I thought this was a good movie, not as hard to follow as I thought it was gonna be but my wife dozed off for about 10 mins and was screwed the rest of the movie

What's the big deal? Your room shakes like a MF when you watch Seinfeld, Mr. Subwoofer-on-every-channel. :teasing-tease:

Nothing like shaking the room with "Festivus" or "No soup for you" and the rumble from the next stall in the "Can you spare a square" episode was unbelievable. :handgestures-thumbup:

After three failed attempts, I was finally able to sit through this movie in its entirety. Surprisingly, my head did not explode as I thought it would during any one of my countless attempts to decipher whether what I was watching was a dream, a dream about a dream or a discussion of a dream while dreaming about a dream. Thanks to those of you who enjoyed this movie and understood it for making me feel like an idiot! :eek:bscene-birdiedoublered: Regardless, don't be surprised if you see this listed in our classified section.

We watched this last night on the new 5.1 Systema and will have to watch again due to the in a Dream in a Dream, Dream.........WTF.

Anyway the best audio scene with the new 5.1 was the shoot out when in the Taxi Cab Car Chase Scene.

Need to continue to work on Calibration.

Late to the party here...

I finally watched Inception on BluRay. Good image, average audio, poor acting, plot written like a 13 year old. The idea behind the plot was something my mates and I talked about and debated from age 12 to 16. Once we got driving licenes we lost interest in these sorts of mind games. Great visual effects, though!

The chick in the film, the student with all the "skill" was a terrible actor as well. She just stood around looking stupid most of the time.

I have to be honest, this was not a very good movie at all. The only part I was impressed with was the sets.

No, you're not alone. I got your back on this one. I can't decide if I want to watch it again w/ Jan or not (she hasn't seen it).

I didn't read all the posts in this thread to avoid any spoilers or to be influenced by other people's opinions. I hope I am not offending anyone.

I also found the implausiblity of the technology to be very difficult to get around. Most sci-fi writers make an effort to make sense of the insane technologies people use in their stories to help suspend the disbelief of the audience. They fail to do that with this story. Perhaps it was in the original story and taken out for time (don't get me started on how rushed this movie felt). But, I never really accepted the concept of this instantaneous dream drug which enabled people to be inside each others dreams so easily. Sorry. I need some convincing because I almost laughed when near the end they were just dropping off into a dream state darn near immediately and while their adrenaline was running rampant. Something not right about that.

That's because it's a dream. At least that's the story.

I don't think you're giving anesthesiologists enough credit.

My wife had an outpatient procedure done yesterday. She was wide awake and a little nervous when they injected the anesthesia. They said she'd be out in 20 seconds. It was closer to 15 seconds, if that. She told me she was dreaming about work during the 20 minutes she was asleep...

When I had my wisdom teeth pulled many years back, I was given two itty-bitty pills to take 1.5 hours before the procedure. I took them and 20 minutes later my dad asked if I was feeling anything. Nope. Another 20 minutes. Anything? Nope. Leave for the dentist, feeling anything yet? Nope. 1.5 hours after I took the pills I'm sitting in the chair and BAM! I start seeing stuff floating around the room.

Maybe the dream was the surgery, and you! Maybe when she is asleep in this reality and dreaming she is, in fact, in the real reality and this reality is her dream and we just projections of her subconscious.
